We have already completed the traditional social knitting campaign “Let’s give warmth to one another” initiated by Aleksandr Gridin charity foundation, during which we invited everyone to knit for the children from less fortunate families as well as for the premature babies, and for the children living without parental care.
We were so happy to find out that this wonderful and meaningful event gathered so many participants of all ages, senior citizens in particular. We sincerely thank everybody who devoted their time, warmth and kindness: residents together with the personnel from “Panemunė” care home in Kaunas, women attending the same day care center for elderly people, senior citizens – victims of deportation, ladies from Gargždai Vilius Gaigalaitis care home and Klaipėda care home, as well ladies attending Senior Day Care centers of social support “Diemedis” and “Atgaiva” in Vilnius, “Dane” in Klaipeda and “Dainava” in Kaunas, and the elderly people and personnel from the Vilnius Crisis Center and Kaunas Kartu namai. We thank all lovely, caring ladies, who know how to knit, including the colleagues from Gridin’s Group and their close ones, and employees of the Council of Culture of Lithuania for joining this social event as well!
We are extremely happy that the purpose of this event was achieved – knitting united the little ones and the seniors – over 500 pairs of socks, scarfs, blankets for the premature babies were knitted. Our sincere gratitude goes to sponsors, who provided us with the necessary yarn: Siūline.lt, Casa Lana, Midara, Vilnos Namai. All beautiful and warm knitwear has already reached children, we visited before Christmas. The blankets for the premature babies will be delivered in the nearest future.
Let all your love and kindness warm children hearts during these cold and long winter days!
